-
Location, outline and size of buildings on the site
-
Contour of the land
-
Elevation of the property corners and control lines
-
Meridian arrow

Site Analysis
When it comes to colors:
-
Black is used for lettering and the works of man such as roads, houses, and other structures
-
Brown represents all land forms such as contour lines
-
Blue is used for water and
-
Green is used for vegetation
Contours
Contours have the ability to describe the site. When contours are spaced closely together it indicates a steep slope. However, smooth and parallels contours indicate an even ground surface. When they are irregular, the land surface is rough and irregular. Also, summits and depressions can be indicated by close lines.
Property Lines
Define the site boundaries
Contour Lines
Line connecting points that have the same Elevation
Vertical distance between two adjacent contours
Contour Interval
Is important to remember that:
-
Contours of different elevations do not cross
-
Contours cross watersheds and ridge lines at right angles with the concave side of the curve facing toward the higher elevation
